Fried Dillys
Published January 14th, 2006 in Restaurant ReviewsLast night Betsy, Jack, and I went out to eat with our friends Tony and Kelly at Hudsons. It’s one of the new restaurants over there on Casoloma just down from Timber Rattler Stadium. Well when perusing the menu I came across an appetizer called Fried Dillys. That’s right fried Dill Pickles.
Now I wasn’t sure what to expect from a fried dill pickle other than I knew it had to be a brilliant idea. I mean pickles are good and so is anything that is deep fried, so these things had to be excellent!! Well after much discussion about what they could possibly taste like….I mean pickles are rather liquid and oozy and well fried stuff is usually suppose to be crisp, so it was unclear who would win…the crunchy crispy stuff or the pickle juice. Tony went ahead and ordered a round of Fried Dillys for all.
They come with ranch sauce and were pretty darn good, despite the fact that we had just paid $5 for 1.5 total pickles. They were crispy on the outside and pickley on the inside. Essentially stick a fried mozzarella stick in your mouth with a pickle and I think you’d have it.
Anyway Hudsons is pretty good and their food is pretty cheap and they got fried dill pickles.
